River-flat garages and hillside new-builds choke their dryers in opposite ways. The visit measures first, then puts one all-found number on whatever's actually wrong.
Ferndale's dryers live a split existence. Down near the Nooksack, laundry sits in garages and basements where river damp keeps loads heavy and lint sticky, and where a transition hose crushed behind the machine is the commonest silent thief of airflow. Up in the newer neighborhoods off Vista and Church Road, builder-installed vents run short but terminate through roofs — tidy, invisible, and prone to packing shut where nobody ever looks.
